FAIRY DAY MEDITATION

One of the best ways to celebrate fairies
and commune with the fairy realm is through relaxation and
meditation. The following is a guided meditation that you
can try any time you have an hour to yourself. You need
but a few supplies and your imagination.
Supplies Needed:
- Bath Salts (natural is preferred, scented in a floral
scent like lavender or rose)
- Scented Candles (again, floral scents are best)
- Relaxing music (see our links page for lots of great
fairy music CD ideas!)
- A sleep mask (one of those yummy silk numbers to help
you focus)
- Your imagination and a quiet bathroom with a bath tub
Run yourself a nice warm bath, and before slipping in, situate
your CD player with light, fairy or new age music playing
softly on repeat. Sprinkle some bath salts, or even a few
flower petals in the warm bath water. Light your candles
and dim down the lights. Now slip into your bath brew and
let all of the day's stress leave your body. When you're
sufficiently relaxed, put your sleep mask over your eyes
and begin your guided meditation journey into the fairy
realm:
Imagine yourself asleep in a bed of cool grass on a warm
summer night. You're safe beneath a might oak tree's protective
branches. Slowly, open your eyes and take in the sights
around you. There is a full moon above, set against a velvety
deep blue sky sprinkled with shining stars. You have awakened
in a grove of thick green grass framed with oak trees and
twining vines. Fireflies flit about the clearing as an owl
hoots softly in the night.
Slowly, you rise to your feet, and look down at yourself.
You wear a gown of shimmering light, your feet are bare
against the cool thick grass. Flowers are woven through
your long hair and soft petals fall softly down as your
long locks blow in the night winds. Suddenly, as if by magic,
a path appears at the edge of your grove, where only thick
trees were just a moment before.
A soft white glow emanates from deep within the path, urging
you onward.Slowly, without thinking, you begin to move toward
and then down this enchanted path. A chorus of soft, hauntingly
beautiful voices begin to whisper to you through the winds.
These are ancient voices, so beautiful and melodic you know
they can't be human. You are not scared, but rather feel
a rush of excitement as you journey down the soft path.
The light grows stronger as you go deeper into the wood.
Smell the fragrant night flowers and smells of the forest.
Listen to the soft night noises. Notice that you are nearing
the end of the path and about to enter another clearing.
Before you, stands the most beautiful site you've ever seen.
A glorious gossamer throne sets in the center of this enchanted
grove. It seems to be made of crystal, and sparkles in the
moonlight. A beautiful faery queen sets atop this throne,
smiling softly. She seems to be made of glistening fairy
dust, with long ornate robes and a crown of moonflowers
set atop a mane of long beautiful hair. She beckons for
you to come forward silently, as if she can speak directly
to your mind. Surrounding her is a swirling procession of
sprites and pixies dancing harmoniously.
They clear, allowing you to come closer to their queen.
Tentatively, you step forward and take her hand. As you
touch, a burst of light envelopes the grove, and warmth
sweeps over you. In an instant, you know the secrets of
days long ago. You feel a love and sense of peace like none
you've ever enjoyed. Slowly, the faery queen lets go of
your hand, and the light slowly fades. She smiles a knowing
smiles and then waves her magical wand. Your eyes become
heavy, and as you drift into a deep sleep, her faithful
pixies carry you back to the safety of the mighty oak. When
you wake, you will wonder if it was just a dream afterall.
But deep down, you'll know you've been touched buy the hand
of the queen of the fairies and given the gift of magic.
